When looking for music to use in our podcast we downloaded free music from the free music archive.
We need music to include in our podcasts for jingles, sound beds and for general music content.
- We want to use soundbeds to make the speech more upbeat and appealing.
- We want to use jingles for entertainment purposes and to make the podcast memorable.
- We want to use sound effects to add comedy to the podcast.
We have permission to use the music which has been downloaded (creative commons licence).
That means we have permission to use it non commercially meaning you can't use it to make money out of it. The music is allowed to be used completely free as long as credit is given to the artists from the Free Music Archive website.
The music played on our GOLD podcast aimed at an older audience will be very much different to the music played on our contemporary hit radio aimed at young people.
From research conducted we concluded that the music used in the contemporary hit radio for general playing and for soundbeds will be more upbeat and lively whereas the music playing on the gold radio station will be more calming and relaxing music.
We wish to use Jarod C Balough - Strides as a sound bed for our podcast aimed at an older audience as it is more calm and relaxing. The music was found and downloaded under the classical sector of the free music archive and from our research we discovered that it is much like the music played on radio stations aimed at an older audience for example Angel FM.
We wish to use DJMC Haram - Opra Hell as soundbeds for our podcast aimed at contemporary hit radio listeners. This is because its upbeat lively music which will keep the audience alert and interested in the speech. This music was found under the Soul-RnB sector of the free music archive much like chart music to a mainstream audience.
